She had two daughters. She was in Dubai with her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi and several other family members to attend nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. She reportedly died of cardiac arrest. Her sudden death shocked Bollywood and legions of her followers who reached outside her Mumbai house. Veteran actor Sridevi died in Dubai on Saturday after a cardiac arrest.

Popularly, she was named as the first female superstar of Hindi cinema. Sridevi began acting at the age of four and 1976’s Moondru Mudichu, opposite Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth was one of her earliest films as an adult lead. Sridevi, star of blockbusters such as Naagin, Mr. India, Chaal Baaz, and Chandni, took a break of many years after marrying Boney Kapoor in 1996. She returned to the screen in 2012’s English Vinglish and was last seen in 2017’s MOM. Sridevi made her Bollywood debut in 1978 with “Solva Sawan”. Sridevi had worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. She was awarded Padma Shri, fourth highest civilian award, in 2013.

Movies like “Mawaali” (1983), “Tohfa” (1984), “Mr. India” (1987) and “Chandni” (1989) kept her at the top in the box-office game, films like “Sadma” (1983), “ChaalBaaz” (1989), “Lamhe” (1991), and “Gumrah” (1993).  Indian PM Narendra and Many Actors From All Over Tollywood and Bollywood Express Thier Feelings of Sri Devi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted as “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran of the film industry, whose long career included diverse roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admirers in this hour of grief. May her soul rest in peace”. President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted: “Shocked to hear of the passing of movie star Sridevi. She has left millions of fans heartbroken. Her performances in films such as Moondram Pirai, Lamhe, and English Vinglish remain an inspiration for other actors. My condolences to her family and close associates.”

Most-stricken tweets from actors Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth were among many have flooded social media after the death of actress Sridevi. These actors were Sridevi’s co-stars in 1976’s Tamil hit Movie “Moondru Mudichu”, her first film as a female lead. She and Mr. Haasan co-starred and acted in several films, both Tamil and Hindi. Mr. Haasan received a National Award for a famous movie “Moondram Pirai” and it’s Bollywood remake of Sadma. Their credits together include 16 Vayathinile and Guru.

Rajinikanth: I’m shocked and very disturbed. I’ve lost a dear friend and the industry has lost a true legend. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I feel the pain with them #RIPSridev … you will be missed.
